Project - Negotiate Employment Awards, Agreements and Contracts
Your assessor will observe you as you negotiate employment awards, agreements and contracts with at least two employees and consult with specialist for advice-Part A: Negotiate with EmployeesYou will be accessed on your practical skills to:• Negotiate with at least two employees- You must discuss the following applicable to each employee:o Awardso Agreementso Contracts• Agree on the conditions of their employment- Before starting this task, you must:• Identify at least two employees to negotiate withThese employees can be from any function of the organisation who are impacted by employment awards, agreements and have employment contracts-• Access and review the following:o Sources with information on organisational objectiveso Documents relevant to each of the identified employees- This must include at least one of each of the following for each employee:• Industrial awards• Employee Agreements• Employee contractso Organisational policies and procedures relevant to:• Negotiation• Conditions of employmentSources of information on the negotiation issues for each identified employeeo Sources with information on employee rights and obligations- This must include the following:• Legislations• Regulations• Codes of practiceLegislations, regulations and codes of practice must be applicable to the learner's organisation and must contain clauses and requirements on the conditions of employment to be maintained
Part B: Get Advice From SpecialistsExternal specialists can be involved during the negotiation or after the negotiation- External specialists refer to individuals with specialised knowledge on matters of ER and IR, which are being negotiated-You will be accessed on your practical skills to:• Consult at least one external specialist on the following:o Identifying requirements regarding conditions of employment:• At least two organisational requirements• At least two legal requirementso Ensuring that the conditions of employment as per the negotiated awards, agreements and rewards meet legal and organisational requirementsUse verbal and listening skills to consult the identified external specialistsReview Workplace Assessment Part 2 - Observation Form before starting this task- This form outlines all the practical skills you need to demonstrate to satisfactorily complete this task- Your assessor will also discuss with you the practical skills outlined in this form prior to the assessment-Include any supplementary documents/sources used to complete the task, such as:• Copy of negotiated contracts after the task-• Sources with information on organisational objectives• Documents relevant to each of the identified employees- This must include at least one of each of the following:o Industrial awardso Employee Agreementso Employee contracts• Organisational policies and procedures relevant to the following:o Negotiationo Conditions of employment• Sources with information on employee rights and obligations Sources of information on the negotiation issues for each identified employee
