ContextA project is designed to deliver value and benefits to the organisation and stakeholders- The selected development approach and processes may be tailored to ensure value and benefits delivery- The delivery of the project is based on more than the identified project outcomes and will be impacted by the people and organisational culture in which the outcomes will be delivered-
The way the deliverables are accepted within the client organisation is dependent on the readiness of stakeholders to receive and accept change- Thus, change management is a key consideration when managing and delivering project outcomes, so that the change is enabled to deliver the envisioned future state -PMI, 2021-- Changes resulting from the project should enable benefits realisation-
Changes need to be assessed and identified, and the people impacted by the changes need to be prepared, engaged, and understand the need and benefits of the change- Change Management goes beyond Integrated Change Control- Change Management looks at the people and processes and how the organisation moves from the current state to the envisioned future state that becomes possible with successful project completion-
As a future Project Manager, you will often be called upon to review and assess your project, the associated process and lifecycle, and determine the impacts of the project on the stakeholders, as well as the impacts of the stakeholders on the project- You will engage others in your evaluation to propose and agree solutions, which will incorporate a Change Management approach-
This assessment allows you to demonstrate your understanding of the importance and application of Project Change Management and Integrated Change Control, by selecting and discussing a Change Model that you will recommend as the basis for the transition of people and processes to the newly envisioned state, brought about by the project deliverables- You will also demonstrate your analysis of project process groups and processes, along with the appropriate development approach/lifecycle, that support the delivery of project value to the stakeholders-By engaging in a discussion with other class members, you will consider your recommendations against the context of the recommendations made by others, presenting supporting evidence and discussing the recommended approaches in order to contribute to your "toolkit" of Project and Change Management knowledge and application-
